Yemeni Dictionary

The Yemeni dictionary is, as of the writing of this, only a short draft, although I hope to grow it in the coming year. At this point, I’m still starting out on the journey, going through textbooks and academic articles to learn the basics of the grammar. I try to start every dictionary with fresh eyes, acting as though I’m in a vacuum and know nothing about the dialect, so that I don’t bias the data in any way. This means that, even though I could pull from other dictionaries for common words, I avoid doing so and write everything from square one. I’ve heard several claims that Yemeni retains certain similarities with Classical Arabic, and I’m looking forward to exploring that at the vocabulary level as I dig more into this.
